Querido’s Apiary is a brand of natural & ethically sourced honey-based Latin American treats inspired by the small apiary my grandfather owns back home in La Máquina, Guatemala.
The family knows him as Querido, which is a term of endearment in Spanish that translates to dear or beloved.
The Poma family begins in a small, rural town known as La Máquina located along the coasts of the Suchitepéquez region of Guatemala, an area rich with beautiful indigenous culture and history.
Querido’s Apiary was created with Augusto Poma in mind—a loved father, grandfather, musician, and, on occasion, beekeeper. He is the family’s resident honey supplier, and lovingly referred to as Querido, a term pinned onto him due to my grandmother’s decades-long adoration.
